Elder Dragon
To live so long may be either a curse or a blessing. Centuries ago, the Elder decided it was a curse.
The humans he pinpointedly rescued from their own kin grew to worship him as a god. At first he loved being a god, feeling loved and hoarding offerings as treasures. But then, the religion grew wider and they became The Dragon Followers. His first and only paladin, the Dark Knight, raided and destroyed on his behalf. Battle was always just around the corner and the Elder was tired of all the fight.
Now, a new war is coming over a stolen egg and the Elder Dragon feels it's time to end everything, once and for all. He is old, too much old, and it's time to make his eternal resting bed.
Even if it means taking all Avendell with him.
